

Sylvia "Silver" Ione Jones went to be with The LORD on May 8, 2015. Our sweet Silver was born the First day of January, 1938 in Kenedy, TX to Helmuth & Ione Schuenemann. She was one of the head cheerleaders in Kenedy High School. She graduated from University of Texas in 3 years with a degree in Education, her initial teaching assignment being in the Austin ISD. On August 20, 1960 she married her high school sweetheart Bob Jones & moved to Houston to teach in Spring Branch and Houston ISDs. She moved to Tyler, TX in 1966 when Exxon transferred Bob, and retired from her teaching profession to become a full time Mother and raise her 3 daughters. She also taught Sunday school at The First Presbyterian Church. She was very active with The Junior League of Tyler where she was Editor of the cookbook, Cooking Through Rose Colored Glasses, then continuing her volunteer League service in Midland, Houston and Austin.
They experienced 54 years of marital bliss enjoying foreign and domestic travels.
Silver was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her husband Bob Jones, daughters Jana Jones, Jill Wolfe & husband Glen, Missy Williams & husband John. Five grandchildren: Stephanie Williams & husband Jimmie, Elizabeth Rickey & fiance Mark Senior, & Will Rickey, Justin Wolfe and wife Cathy, and Audrey Williams. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren Christopher & Sloane Williams, Justin Jay & Zachary Noah Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Helmuth & Ione Schuenemann, brother, Helmuth "Bubba" Schuenemann Jr. And grandson Quinten Wolfe.
Visitation hours will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday May 12 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 North Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Oakhill Cemetery, HWY 95, Smithville, TX.
