

Tamara Lee Kissinger, 77, passed away on June 11, 2025, in Austin, Texas, from complications of dementia. She was born April 27, 1948 to the late Robert and Dorothy (Riley) Kissinger. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.
Tamara was born and raised in Troy, NY, the middle of seven children. She graduated from Tamarac High School and Albany School of Nursing for her Registered Nurse Degree. She served in the United States Air Force as a nurse at Beale Air Force Base, California. After returning to Central New York, Tamara earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY College of Technology, provided direct patient care in various hospitals, and became a Nursing School instructor. Later in her career, she worked in medical billing Quality Control for both insurance companies and hospital administration, while still working shifts providing patient care.
Tamara was an actively involved mother and grandmother, following her daughter’s family first to Phoenix, Arizona, then on to Austin, Texas. She was her grandchildren’s biggest supporter, and they, her pride and joy. She was a voracious reader and loved to travel. She indulged herself with yearly trips to Paris, taking in the French culture for multiple weeks at a time.
Tamara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy; brothers Robert, Keith, and Eric; and sisters Judith Laliberte and Pamela Baker.
She is survived by her brother Mark (Delores), daughter Jennifer (Thomas), grandchildren: Alexander and Charlotte, and her nieces and nephews.
To fulfill the promise to take her to Paris one more time, Tamara’s immediate family will be taking her ashes to France in the coming months.
