Edward (Teddy) Lee Johnson (46) of Austin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 12th. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on February 26, 1967. He grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Alief Elsick High School. Following high school, he entered Texas A&M and was a proud graduate in 1991 with a degree in speech communications.
After A&M, Teddy moved to Hollywood to pursue his dream of both acting in and producing motion pictures/television shows. He worked in that industry for many years with limited success. About three years ago he decided to come back to his roots in Texas.
Teddy was a very loving and giving man. He especially cherished time with his family and his wonderful son, Jacob. Unfortunately, Teddy had a disease that he was unable to conquer, which in the end caused his demise.
His family is very grateful that in the last year Teddy was loved and cared for by his girlfriend Melissa Alcocer.
Teddy is survived by his son, Jacob, his father, Henry M. Johnson, Jr., his mother Sally Johnson, his stepmother, Diana Johnson, and his brother, Bryan Matthew Johnson. He is further survived by his uncles, Michael Powers, William Swain Johnson and Robert Andrew Johnson and his wife Kay. He is also survived by his cousins, Katie, Taylor, Brian and Victoria, and his new little niece Emma.
"Good-night! good-night! as we so oft have said
Beneath this roof at midnight, in the days
That are no more, and shall no more return.
Thou hast but taken up thy lamp and gone to bed;
I stay a little longer, as one stays
To cover up the embers that still burn."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in Austin on Sunday, November 17th at 1:00 pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 North Lamar Blvd.
