Teresa M. Cox

Teresa M. Cox passed away on August 17, 2011 in Austin, Texas. Teresa Maria Cox was born on September 5, 1926 in Ariccia, Rome, Italy to Umberto and Adele (Abatini) Ciaccio. She married Fred Cox on October 21, 1945 and came to America as a war bride in 1946. Teresa became an American citizen in 1949. They had 58 wonderful years together, living about 52 of these years in Austin with a short period of time spent in Belton, TX.

Teresa was a strong, independent lady devoted to her husband. Fred was always the focus of her life. She was head cashier and was a retired civil service employee. Teresa was a considered a wonderful cook by her family. She loved feeding the stray cats and raccoons that came to her door.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred Cox, a brother and two sisters in Italy.

Although she and Fred never had children of their own, she is survived by the extended family she loved and shared her life with, which includes many nephews and nieces.

A rosary will be recited at half past one o’clock on Monday, August 22nd prior to entombment services which will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, August 22nd at Assumption Cemetery 3650 South IH 35, Austin, TX. Father John Kim will officiate.
