

Brother Theo (John) Flynn, CSC, 89, a member of the South-West Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross passed away at Dujarie House, Notre Dame, Indiana, on Monday, November 17, 2003. Born in Holton, KS, Brother Theo lived as a Brother of Holy Cross for sixty-five years. Formerly known as Brother Theodosius, he served the congregations mission of education at Holy Cross School, New Orleans, LA; and at St. Francis High School, Mountain View, CA. He served in the administration of the South-West Province, in Austin, TX, as assistant provincial and director of studies, and he supervised the professional development of teaching brothers. Brother Theo is especially remembered for the profound influence he had upon the many Holy Cross brothers formed under his guidance at the Vincent Hall Scholasticate at St. Edwards University, Austin, TX. In his later years in Austin, he served as the director of the Associates of Holy Cross in Prayer and as the director of the Propagation of the Faith for the Diocese of Austin. The wake service will be held at the chapel of St. Joseph Hall at St. Edwards University, on Monday, November 24, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held in the same chapel on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, TX.
