Terry was born November 7, 1927 in Austin. She met her husband Wilford Reed Swinney and they were married on November 27, 1947. Will proceeded her in death on November 11, 2017 at the age of 95. They were married 69 years.
Terry is survived by her two children: Pat Ledet and husband John, and son Victor, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She enjoyed volunteering at St. Louis Catholic Church and making church vestments with other ladies of the church.
Knitting was a great part of her life. She made ahfgans, blankets, sweaters and baby clothes. Gathering with her friends at Donna’s Yard Barn, they would visit, knit and share stories.
Terry worked at local stores in the neighborhood such as Beall’s, Davis Hardware and Garnett Lewis Cleaners.
Exercise was very important to her and she tried to get to the gym at least three times per week. Another pastime was reading! She read at least 2 books a week and had stacks and stacks of books in her closet.
Terry and Will became interested in motorcycles and were founding members of the Austin Road Riders Association. They traveled all over the United States with their friends.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at 10:00am at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar, Austin, Texas. A private family burial will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Mahomet Cemetery in Bertram, Texas.
