

The old home place is a little red house, on Bartons Springs Creek, just off Bells Springs Road. He is preceded in death by his parents Rev. O.V. and Lonnie M. Stubbs, his three brothers: Clauis Alden Stubbs, Wilton Odel Stubbs, Ollis Vae Stubbs and sister Euva Valda Stubbs-Barnett. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Stubbs, sister Theda D. Yager and husband Don, and one cousin, Judy Reed Richie. He was greatly loved by his numerous nieces and nephews.
Tilvern was a graduate of Buda High School, Buda, Texas. He joined the Navy in 1948. He and brother Ollis were both stationed on the USS Neruss, a submarine tender, during the Korean war. Tilvern was a Morse code operator.
After serving four years in the Navy, he began working at Ozark National Bank, Ozark, Arkansas. He later worked at Austin National Bank for 26 years. Banking was his career.
Tilvern was a wonderful Christian man greatly respected by all who knew him.
Viewing will be on Monday April 27, 2026, from 11:00-12:00 pm at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home at 5416 Parkcrest Drive in Austin. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Refreshments and light appetizers will be served 1:00-2:00 pm.
The graveside service will be at 3:00 pm at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home cemetery, 14501 North I-35, Pflugerville, Texas, located on the east side access road north of Howard Lane. There is a lot of construction on this access road.
