Those who knew Timmy, knew him as a bit of a rebel – always on a quest for something – wanting to live freely, unbound by any restraints that sought to confine him. If you really knew Tim, you knew that there was sensitivity behind his pursuits – a desire to love and be loved – and a devotion to his family and all who had the privilege of calling him “friend.”
Timothy David Gorske, whom his family refers to as “Timmy,” was born on September 12, 1983 in North Little Rock Arkansas. He made his inner spirit immediately known – he was sensitive, shy and loving, wanting to please his parents. He was a cuddler who was deeply attached to his Daddy, Mommy, Grandpa and Grandma Hill – never wanting to leave their sides – or their laps!
As he grew into an elementary school child, Timmy wanted to please his teachers as well – striving to do well and overcome his dyslexia. He enjoyed drawing and had a natural gift for art. He developed friendships, with his best friend being Chris Rose (whom he has remained in contact with). They were mischievous little guys, up to the typical boyhood antics and goofiness, especially while participating in their Boy Scout activities.
Life moved forward and family circumstances change, friends move, Grandpa died, Timmy grew into a young man. Timmy tried to move through the losses as he searched for his own identity. He clung to his family and his beloved dog, Cubby, and, later, his dog Max. His adventurousness developed. He demonstrated an amazing insight. He achieved Honor Roll. His intelligence, coupled with his sense of humor would drop you to the floor in laughter.
Timmy had a typical sibling relationship with his sister Sarah - two siblings could not have been more different. The arguments and teasing were tempered by heart-to-heart talks. As they grew, so did their friendship and love for each other and Timmy became very protective of his “little sis.”
Tim played In-Line Hockey and found he was quite talented – he and his team won numerous championships. Timmy found a lot of joy in hockey; skates became his main form of transportation. He developed more friendships, with his closest friend being Adam Easterly. The two looked like brothers and had an extraordinary friendship.
Timmy graduated from Walkersville High School in 2002 and went on to Lincoln Tech to study mechanics. He was not yet ready to settle into a career and decided instead to enjoy his early adulthood with friends, always in search of fun and adventure. When his sister brought home her boyfriend (now husband), Jermaine Hinton, Timmy found the brother he never had. The three of them were inseparable (Timmy, Sarah and Jermaine) and Timmy’s adventurous spirit and sense of humor flourished even more.
Timmy moved to Texas to be near his father. He acquired a love for motorcycles and found riding to be the most amazing sense of freedom. He remained in pursuit of his dreams.
Timmy was fortunate to have an ever-expanding family - he gained two stepmothers, “Dube” and Jamie. The love surrounding him grew through them. And along came a nephew, Cameron, and a niece, Carmyn. And Timmy grew. And he loved these children – and they loved him. Timmy will never have the opportunity to meet his niece who will be born in September – at least not on this earthly plain. I expect he is up in heaven right now in the company of Our Lord and his grandpa, giving his niece lessons on which “buttons” to push to get a rise out of her parents, how to score a goal in hockey, the joy of riding, and how to cuddle.
Timmy passed away on June 20, 2012. He is survived by his mother Dawn Hill Gorske & her partner Andrea Dube, his father Timothy M.
