

Timothy Blair Hopkins, Jr., 66, of Austin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Tim was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 19, 1945 to Timothy Blair Hopkins, Sr., a Boston police officer and Margaret Lamb Hopkins, a homemaker.
Tim held a variety of jobs in his youth. This included working as a computer operator and for a time working as a rig hand on oil rigs in Calgary in Alberta, Canada where he met and married his son’s mother. This job eventually took them to Giddings, Texas. In 1981 he moved to Austin. While in Austin he completed a program in psychology at Austin Community College and briefly worked as a counselor in a drug clinic. In May of 2000 he graduated from Saint Edwards University with a major in History. In recent years he worked as a self-employed finish carpenter and painter. He found he greatly enjoyed using his talent and creativity to do minor remodeling, faux finishing and restoring.
Tim was a proud and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for almost thirty years and most recently made his home and many dear friends with the Northland group.
Tim married Kathleen Cecile Kunz Bogan in April of 1999. He is survived by his wife Cecile, his son Robert by a previous marriage and Robert’s wife Carol, his two step daughters, Leah and Emily Bogan, and his sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Joe English of Plymouth, Massachusetts.
A memorial service for Tim will be held at Riverbend Chapel, 4214 N Capital Of Texas Hwy, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
