

Known as Tommy, he was liked by many. He was still a dedicated employee at the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 47 years where his patrons loved him. He started bowling as a young teen, and served as League Secretary for many years. He bled Burnt Orange and could talk to you about any sport, especially Ladies Basketball. He loved photography, taking pictures of his family and wildlife in the neighborhood.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, they dated in high school and were married for 50 years, their son Randy Hashem, his wife, his wife Paulla, their children Haleigh and Hayden and his beloved dog “bootsie” of Austin, Texas; Brother Harold Hashem and wife Mary Anne, their children Anthony & Anne Marie of Jacksonville, Florida; Sister Sharon Wilkerson and husband Wynn, their children Adam & Arron of Manor, Texas; Sister Deborah Meadows and husband Ronnie, her son Michael of Tow, Texas; Brother Lynn Buckner and wife Carole, their children Gary & Connie of Ft. Worth, Texas; Josie & Tom Allman, their daughters Cindy & Teri of Austin, Texas, including many extended family members, of great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom & Eula Hashem of Austin, Texas.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 23rd of January 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 24th of January 2013, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 910 San Jacinto Boulevard, Austin, Texas, with The Reverend George Joseph, celebrant. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
