Vernece "Bea" Gonzalez

Vernece "Bea" Gonzalez passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Bea was born on August 25, 1966 in Lubbock, Texas to Josie Garcia. Bea was raised in Lubbock but moved to Austin in 1986; where she raised her 3 children as a single mother.

Bea worked as a home health aid for OC & Joan Chandler of Austin, Tx from 2010 until their passing in 2009 and 2016 respectively. Bea never gave up on her education till the very end. She studied for Certified Medical Administrative Specialist with The College of Healthcare Professions 2016 to 2023.

Bea enjoyed gardening. She cared for her plants for many years. She also enjoyed crafting mums and diaper cakes for her children, grandchildren, nieces and many friends. In 2013 when she began her fight against Lupus and Cancer, she began traveling with her sister and going on many adventures to Hawaii and the Grand Canyon and more.

Bea is preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Gonzalez.

She is survived by her children; Joseph (Ashley), Leslie (Candice) and Stephanie (Rick); 12 grandchildren, Abigail, Aaliyah, Mariyah, Makayla, Anthony, Julian, Bryson, Carmine, Joseph, R'Mani, Nyrobi and Malahni. Her mother, Josie Garcia and Sisters: Rose Lawson and Lori Gonzalez; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

The family would like to thank Dr. Punit Chadha, Texas Oncology - South Austin; and Dr. Derrick Nguyen, Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center - Killeen. Interim Health Care, Levelland, and numerous family and friends for their constant love and support.
