Victor Norman Farinelli Victor Norman Farinelli, age 69, of Elgin, Texas, died on Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was born on May 19, 1938 in New Kenzington, Pennsylvania to Valentino and Lucy Farinelli. Victor served in the US Navy for twenty years. He sailed on the Valley Forge from 1967-1968, during the Vietnam era. Victor was stationed on a base in El Centro, California, where he worked as an air traffic controller from 1969 until his retirement in 1975. He later served as a deputy sheriff in Brawley, California. In Victor's leisure time he enjoyed working with HAM radios, computers, going to the movies, (especially Sci-fi and the classics), reading books of any kind, and traveling, he had traveled to every continent. Victor was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Marie Farinelli; daughters, Sandra D. Miller and Pamela M. Farinelli; sons, Victor A. Farinelli and Robert A. Farinelli; three grandchildren, Anthony Shane Farinelli, Stephanie E. Schumaker, and Crystal E. Farinelli; one great-grandchild, Hannah Leigh Farinelli; and sisters, Virginia Salvay and Barbara Heaps. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Burial of ashes will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
