Victoria was born on September 29, 1927, to Victor Bernard and Lucia Mae Hoffman. She married Lee W. Wilson on December 6, 1946, and had four children; Kathryn, Michael, David, and Mary. She spent her life’s work as a nurse, working in the OR and later for the Austin Anesthesiology Group. She prided herself on patient care and accuracy, therefore earning the nickname “Sarge” by one of the doctors in the OR. Victoria was a nurse through and through, although she was as kind as she was gentle. Victoria was an enthusiastic and active member of Austin Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, road trips, reading, playing card games, and an evening out for good Mexican food. Victoria prided herself on her legacy, her beloved family and you could often find her wearing a sweatshirt that read, “If you think I’m cute, you should see my grandkids.” She would often talk of her four children, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Although, she made sure we all remembered that she was the Matriarch of the family.
She is preceded in death by both her parents and her sisters Sylvia, and Lucia Mae, and her husband Lee Wilson.
Victoria is survived by daughter Kathryn Wilson of Huntsville, Alabama; son Michael Wilson and children, Lee Wilson and Julie, Kristie Pennington and Noel, Doug Wilson and Pam, and Kelly; son David Wilson and wife Susan of Longview, Texas and children, Sarah Medin and Tim, John Wilson and Eun Ju, Chris Wilson and Samantha, and Mark Wilson and Brazlee; daughter Mary Louise and Herschell and their children, Tim Esquell and Melissa Parenteau and Kevin. Her fifteen great-grandchildren include; Stephen Wilson, Chase Wilson, Parker Pennington, Penelope Pennington, Jocelyn Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Wyatt Wilson, Clark Medin, Rex Medin, Mason Wilson, Jax Wilson, Sabrina Wilson, Aric Molina, Georgia Parenteau, and Harper Parenteau.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Austin Baptist Church, 7016 Ribelin Ranch Dr., Austin, Texas 78750, with a reception following the service in the Great Hall. A private burial service will be held later for family members only. Pallbearers will be Kevin Parenteau, Noel Pennington, Mark Wilson, Lee Wilson, Stephen Wilson, and Chase Wilson.
