

She was born on January 29, 1931 in Rosebud, Texas to Vernie and Corlis Hill. After graduating from Rosebud High School where she proudly performed as Drum Major, she moved to Austin, Texas where she met the love of her life, Cecil. Virginia and Cecil were married on December 26, 1953. They celebrated over 50 years of life together.
Virginia retired from the Texas Education Agency after 20 plus yeas where she served in the Teacher Certification division. She was a member of Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas.
She was a loving wife, daughter, daughter-in-law and sister. She was a perfectionist in loving, her looks, Cecil’s looks and upkeep of her home.
Virginia was preceded in death by Cecil on August 12, 2004. Her sisters, Wanda and Lafon, also preceded her in death as well as Frank Paul. Survivors include her brother, James Hill of Denton, Texas, her niece, Melba Hughes (Jake), of Rosebud, Texas, and her godchild, Brad Walcher, of Dallas, Texas. Virginia is also survived by Dorothy Paul of Austin, Texas and her sons, Frank Paul, Jr. (Emily), of Dallas, Texas, and Glenn Paul (fiancé Sarah), of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was a loving GG to Emerson and Cameron Paul of Dallas, Texas. Other survivors include her dear friends – Trish Shields, of Austin, Texas, and Lisa Hopkins, of Denver, Colorado, several nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to name.
Honoring Mrs. Larkin as pallbearers are Brad Walcher, Marty Walcher, Frank Paul, Jr., Glenn Paul, Dusty Stokes, Sam Hobbs, Larry Smith and Andy Reese.
The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills located at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, Texas 78750. At 11:00am on Monday, July 28, 2014, family and friends are invited to a reception in Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church, 4214 Capital of Texas Hwy N., Austin, Texas 78746. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm in the Smith Family Chapel. Entombment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Mausoleum, 14501 North IH35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Riverbend Church, or a charity of your choice.
