He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Garner Kincaid; his sons, Michael Hunter Kincaid and Tol Bret Kincaid; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Thomas, Travis, Alex, Cara and Bret; two nephews, Buddy and Dale Kincaid.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard F. Kincaid and David Y. Kincaid, and beloved son, Donald D. Kincaid.
Michael was born in Pampa, Texas, on January 15, 1938, to Walter Glenn Kincaid and Corinne Young Kincaid. He spent his early years in West Texas, graduating from Abilene High School.
Michael always had a job from when he was a young boy, such as shining shoes or distributing pamphlets, and in his teen years, he worked with his dad on oil leases.
Michael took great pride in a good day's work, whether at work or home. He instilled this strong work ethic in his sons. Beginning in May 1967, Michael worked at IBM Austin for over twenty-five years. After retiring from IBM, true to his nature, he began a second career of over ten years as Bailiff for the 390th District Court, presided by Judge Julie Kocurek. However, his last career was the one he loved best.
He forged many lasting friendships and had a unique sense of humor—always delivering a quick, witty remark with a sparkle in his eye.
Michael loved cars—races, car shows and car auctions. From time to time, he would dive into hobbies, such as collecting knives, building birdhouses or calligraphy.
He loved his family, and with Sharon, they created the heart of the family, hosting holidays and other special occasions. Michael's special cheese crackers were always on the menu. He was Pop to his grandchildren, who were very special to him. He and Sharon loved when one or more would stay for an extended time.
