Wanda was born in Galveston, TX on November 11, 1940 to Oliver and Pearl Ponder. She was a graduate of William B. Travis High School, Austin, TX, class of 1958. Wanda was retired from Exxon Co. USA where she was employed as a time keeper.
Wanda was proceeded in death by her parents, Oliver and Pearl Ponder. She is survived by one brother, William "Bill" Ponder of Smithville, TX. She leaves behind 4 children Craig Cervenka and wife Tami, Chris Cervenka and wife Tracy, Dana Burt and husband Ricky, and Kyle Cervenka and girlfriend Jessie Walsh. Wanda was a proud Granny to Cassidy Murphy and husband Ron, Blake Barker and wife Heather, Aaron Cervenka, Brandon Cervenka and wife Rubi, Hunter Cervenka and girlfriend Terran Hammond, Cade Cervenka and girlfriend Shelby Henington, Tyler Cervenka and fiance' Carlee Cibulski, Sarah Cepeda and husband Alex, Garrett Glatfelter and wife Hayley, Seth Cervenka and Shane Cervenka. She had 5 great-grandchildren with number 6 on the way. Abigail and Graham Barker, Maddie and Connor Murphy, Ainsley Cepeda and baby Cervenka due in December.
Wanda's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved baseball, gambling, quilting, biscuits and gravy from Whataburger and Dr. Pepper!
Serving as pallbearers will be her 9 grandsons Blake Barker, Aaron Cervenka, Brandon Cervenka, Hunter Cervenka, Cade Cervenka, Tyler Cervenka, Garrett Glatfelter, Seth Cervenka and Shane Cervenka.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Burt, Alex Cepeda, Shawn Schimming, Dallas Hicks and her brother Bill Ponder.
Services for Wanda will be Thursday, May 30 at 3:30 in the afternoon. The family will receive visitors prior to her service at 2:30. Arrangements are under the direction of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park. 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749
