
Wilfred David “Tib” Scallon, Jr., a devoted husband and loving and supportive father died peacefully on August 11th, 2010 at the age of seventy-nine. Born October 24th, 1930, in Blackwell, Oklahoma to parents Wilfred David Sr. and Virginia Poling Scallon. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-six years Martha Ferguson Scallon and children; Tib III and Chantel Scallon, Marti Klema, J and Kellye Scallon, Shaunna Marie Scallon, Kate and Jim Parisi, Michael and Angi Scallon, Chris and Christine Scallon. Grandchildren; Andrew and Alex Matthews, Emily, Benjamin, Grace, and William Klema, Sarah and Jacob Parisi, Drake, Colby, and Blayne Scallon, Ryan Isabel and Clark Scallon. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Scallon and wife, Darlene Scallon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tib attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the tennis team and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He and Martha were married December 28th, 1953. He moved with his wife and children to Austin, Texas in 1959 to open the Moore Burger Drive-ins in the University of Texas area. Tib spent the past twenty years serving the poor and homeless in the Austin community.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Emmaus Catholic Parish, Austin Ladies of Charity, Lake Travis Ladies of Charity or the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
Holy Rosary at 10:00 am, Thursday August 19th, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 am at Emmaus Catholic Parish in Austin, Texas
