William Cecil Mills

William Cecil Mills, Jr.M.D. went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2009 at the age of 89. Bill was born on October 30, 1919 in Caldwell, Texas to William Cecil Mills, Sr. and Gardena Shiller Mills. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1936. He then went to Rice University at the young age of 16. After graduating he went to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1940. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1947. He and his family went to Kenedy, Texas where he practiced family medicine for 38 years. Bill enjoyed retirement and golf in Lakeway, Texas until 2006 when he moved to San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lila George Mills; his dear sister, Mildred Mills Andrews; and his precious grandson, Clinton Michael Lefler. He is survived by his three children, William C. Mills, III and wife Gloria of Fayettville, Arkansas, Linda Olson and husband Bruce Olson of San Antonio, Kathy Lefler and husband Mike of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Scott Mills, Kristen Hodskins, Kathi Overby, and Kerri Rader; his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison Kesinger, Aidan and Patrick Hodskins and Lila Mills. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Services will be held at the Lakeway Church 2203 Lakeway Blvd, Lakeway, Texas on March 27, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Clinton M. Lefler Memorial Foundation providing college scholarships to High School athletes. Donations can be mailed to 1150 N.
