

William “Chris” Pernicka, was born on March 31st, 1943, and passed away in his home on August 31st, 2019. Chris was born to Margaret and Joe Pernicka in Litchfield, Illinois. He married the love of his life, Carole, in December 1962. They had two children, Christy and Chad.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and later joined the Department of Defense, along with the US Air Force Reserves in 1976, for the next 22 years. In 1998, he retired and went to work for Sears Technical support services until his passing in August 2019.
When he was young, Chris loved spending time with friends, helping his grandfather garden and working on cars. As he became a parent, he enjoyed the great outdoors; going camping, fishing and boating. He loved attending sports events, including baseball, softball, football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and swimming with his children and grandchildren.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Carole, his sister, Joyce Leitschuh, his daughter, Christy Matoska, and spouse Mike, and his son, Chad Pernicka, and spouse Michelle. Also survived by grandchildren: Mathew Hinkle, spouse Brittany Morgan Hinkle, Kyle Escobedo, Faith and Chance Pernicka, great-grandchildren: Mason & Adelyn Hinkle.
