

Wilton P. (Mike) Lock, Sr., 99, of Austin passed away May 3, 2012 in Abilene, Texas. Mike was born September 10, 1912 at the family home in Buda, Texas to William Gaston Lock and Myrtle Alice Powell Lock.
He married Dorothy Mae Stanley in October, 1934. They shared their lives together in South Austin where they raised 3 sons, Wilton P. Lock, Jr., Stanley E. Lock and Michael A. Lock. They were married for 74 years until Dorothy passed away on their wedding anniversary in 2008.
His employment over his working career includes farming, truck driving, iceman, delivering ice from Austin to small communities around Austin. He cooked for the Hoffbrau Café on 6th Street. He was a diesel mechanic and shop foreman for the Austin Transit Company and then as shop supervisor for school buses for the Austin ISD until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Mike is survived by his 3 sons, Wilt Lock and his wife, Billie, of Tehachapi, CA, Stan Lock of Stagecoach, NV and Mike Lock and his wife, Wanda, of Abilene, TX; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 11th of May 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 12th of May, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park, Austin, Texas.
