WYATT STONE FEBRUARY 4, 1910 JUNE 13, 2004 Wyatt was born in Austin, Texas to Wyatt and Carie Grimmer Stone. He attended Austin High School and The University of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Florence VonGeyso Stone, to whom he was married for 64 years. Wyatt worked for the National Biscuit Company in Houston, Texas for twelve years. He then served in the Field Artillery at Camp Roland. In 1944 he moved back to Austin, and owned and operated the Food Mart Stores in Austin, Texas. In 1956 he opened and operated Stones Feed Lot in Kyle, Texas. Wyatt and Flo were charter members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at Westlake. Wyatt was probably one of the best domino players to ever live. He was still playing at 94 years of age and very few people could claim to ever have beaten him. Not many people live as long as he did and still claim so many friends of so many ages and generations. He was a man liked by all that knew him. The family would like to thank Hal and Barbara Hampton, Owen Carpenter, Joe Lee and especially John Sanders, for their unstinting friendship, care, and love. He is survived by his sister Beatrice Stone, his nephew Jud Cary and wife Sally Cary of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, niece Judy and husband Stanley Reece of Houston, Texas, niece Linda Toungate and husband John of Houston, Texas, and numerous great nieces and nephews. His honorary pallbearers are Joe Lee, Harold Doggett, Hal Hampton, Owen Carpenter, Scott Cary, and Ben Reese. Memorial services will be at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on Bee Caves Road at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 815 Brazos St., Suite 200, Austin, TX 78701. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin, TX 78705.
