Marilyn passed away peacefully at Granite Ridge in Stittsville in her 79th year, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She grew up in Breckenridge, Quebec, was a long-time resident of Aylmer, Quebec and more recently Stittsville, Ontario. Daughter of the late Morris and Rachel Reid. Loving wife of the late Elmer Harry Mulligan and dear mother of Keith (Karlene), David (Nancy), Joy (Richard), Mel (Sandy). Cherished Granny of Kirsten, Kayla, Chelsea, Lee, Peter, Stephanie, Katie, Greg, Chris. Loved Great-Granny of Riley-Faye, Mackenzie, Luca, Hunter, Kalem, Zachary, Cooper. She will be sadly missed her sister Ethel (Kevin) Ferguson and her sister-in-law Elva Reid. Predeceased by her brother Elwin (Elva) Reid. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a devoted mother, a hardworking volunteer and she took great pride in her long career with Statistics Canada. Her family would like to thank the staff of Granite Ridge for their care and compassion. Also many thanks to Corey Irwin for her kindness, compassion and for being an advocate for Marilyn. The family will receive condolences at the church from 10:30 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service that will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in Westley United Church, Beechgrove, Quebec, interment to follow at Mohr's Cemetery, Beechgrove, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
