Aizik was born on January 4th, 1951 in Riga, Latvia (formerly USSR) to Mendel and Esther Kurman. Together they escaped the grips of communism and fled to Israel to start a new life of freedom. Aizik served in the IDF Air Force as a mechanic for 2 years. In 1977, he moved to the US and became a citizen of the country he loved and where he lived out his remaining years.
He worked as a diamond setter in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years. In 1996 he retired from the jewelry business and started a new career in security, and later HVAC. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams included the New York Rangers and New York Giants. In retirement, he spent his free time gardening and spending time with his friends and family.
Aizik is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Patricia Kurman, two sons David Kurman and William Kurman, and Daughter Sarah Kurman, as well as his 2 grandchildren, Adelyne Kurman and Austin Kurman. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor, and kind soul.
A visitation will be held for Aizik on Wednesday, August 3rd from 2 - 4:30 pm and 6:30 - 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
