It is strange how you meet people in life, go on in your journey, and then you come across their name on a vague internet search, and discover they have passed.  I knew Annette as my supervisor while working at the Long Island National Cemetery for a couple of seasons around 2007-8. Then I left NY and moved to Arizona. I have good memories of Annette. She was fair, a good teacher, patient, and kind. I liked her, as well as the others in the office and grounds staff at LINC. I know she was very fond of her nieces and family and spoke of them affectionately. I always thought she was a good soul, someone whom you found rarely in life. When I was little, the best place on earth was anywhere my cousin Annette was.    I remember  the excitement of walking with my little baby carriage down America Avenue and up 7th Street to "Aunt Eileen's" with my Mom and Nani.  I couldn't wait to see Annette & all my cousins.   That was the fun house!!      There were always lots of pajama parties, family, friends, laughter, love & hugs. xoxo   We were always together and Uncle Anthony dubbed us "Glick & Gluck."   She will always be a cherished part of my life.    When Alena was born, I chose her to christen my daugher.  She was the best Godmother in the world xoxo    I admire and treasure everything about my cousin.    She was a quiet leader, genererous,  caring, and beautiful inside & out.    

Cousins by birth, best friends by choice.   RIP my dear cuz.    I miss you my Gluck & love you with all my heart ... I'll see you when I see you  xoxo

I'm a volunteer at CNC and other then Nanette,  Annette was the first person I met when I  started working there and Annette  trained me.  She was always so generous of spirit, caring and love. Though ever so briefly, I'm so grateful of having her in my  life,

Growing up on our block we were all extended family. we had several sets of parents, and brothers and sisters, if something happened in school word traveled and chances are the news was home before you got home.  I was saddened to hear that she was suffering, and profoundly saddened when I heard that she passed. However, if you believe in the afterlife, and I do, she was welcomed into the light, where her parents and grandparents were waiting for her. She was always nice to me, she helped me when my dad died, his service records were lost and she somehow found them, she was a nice person, may she rest in eternal peace! Although my family moved from that street and that block, I still consider it my home! Tommy Pantaleo

  It feels so surreal, the loss of my cousin. Yet death has a way of transporting us back to more favorable times. A time when we all sat around a huge table at family gatherings, where seating was determined by seniority. Annette, being a younger cousin sat near the end of the table. By her would be our cousin Marlene which now seems indicative of the special bond that would develop between them. 
    I would look down the table at her where she would joke about someday moving up in rank in order to be seated with the adults!
But the images that are most prominent is the twinkle in those beautiful hazel eyes and her kind yet impish smile that always seemed to light up her face! Even in the most solemn times her gentle, loving spirit always radiated around her and out to others.
   Our loss is great but death cannot contain love. Love endures as does the wonderful memories of this dear, sweet woman! 
   They will be our constant reminder of the privilege and honor God gave us in knowing her and having her in our family and our lives.
   Love endures! Now she stands before the King of glory! ❤️🙏❤️

Annette was a beautiful soul that always greeted  me with a warm smile, kiss and a hug. 

Annette was always there for anyone who needed help. I will remember her always that way.

I am a colleague of Annette’s at Calverton National Cemetery.  It is truly a testament to what a beautiful person Annette was that her coworkers took the news of her passing so very hard. So many people commented on how patiently she trained them, how willingly she would reprioritize her own work to help somebody else with theirs, what a calming positive presence she had, and what a wonderfully warm and wholly trusted friend she was.  She will be deeply missed.  My heartfelt sympathy to Annette’s family...your loss is unimaginable.

Annette loved the beach, her family and friends and was the epitome of kindness in all she did. She was a devoted employee and served America’s veterans with pride. I will forever miss her smile, her sparkling eyes, and be jealous of her gorgeous hair! Rest peacefully my dear friend, love you forever!
