It’s been one year today. I can’t believe it. The world really lost a kind soul. You left an impression on so many people and continue to do so in death. You’re missed my friend. ❤️

Hey Mr. Koulis, I still think of you! I think of all the fun times we had at Metro. I wish you were still here lighting up the world with your jokes & your aura. I still cry abt you. It’s not the same without you here. God took one of my favorite people to his place but I know you’re much better up there & not suffering anymore. I love you Mr. Koulis! My Aries 🫶🏽. We couldn’t wait for our birthdays to come up & now I long for your death date 🥺. I’ll celebrate you like you’re still here.

Dear Anthony Koulis, you were and always will be such a great neighbor of mine. Having lived down the block for years I could always count on you to cheer up any conversation. I had just found out about the news after driving past your house routinely and noticing your car not there anymore, and then we began to worry as my texts went unanswered. You will be missed my friend. I know the battle at the end was difficult, but every time we spoke about it you always seemed so positive no matter how dreadful you must have been feeling at times. It’s still a shock to think about how we were just talking about your new pool and landscaping not too long ago.

Im so sorry for his loss. He was a great teacher with jolly mood. A loss of someone affects the friends and family a lot. I hope the family try their best to stay strong. He is always with us. He will not be happy to see his family upset. So, try staying happy for him.

He is a great and loving teacher, I hope he is resting in peace up there. I thank him for his guidance as a teacher in my school and for all he has done for us.

I am so heartbroken having to type this. Anthony was one of the only teachers to have my back in school..
You never let me give up on myself and always pushed me to do more.. I wouldn’t have been Salutatorian if it wasn’t for you pushing me to give it my all  i am actually so hurt by this.. whenever i would go visit voyages you would be so happy to see me, and me just the same.. 
I wanna say thank you for being the powerhouse of voyages and never giving up on your students, you kept it real.. I graduated early because of teachers like you.
I am deeply saddened children won’t be able to learn the same things i did.. You taught me to never give up , and that there is so much more to life than just being smart. 
You impacted so many lives and your journey wasn’t even close to over.. 
Thank you so much for being such an amazing human, we need more people like you …

I’m so saddened by this news I do first want to say my condolences to his family and his loved ones. Mr.Koulis was my high school living environment teacher and I tell you I struggled but he always stuck by my side and gave me that push. It was plenty long afterschool days that he would allow me to stay and do some one on one learning to catch up he was an amazing person I am blessed to say I had a chance to meet him and have in my life. The impact he has had just on me and all of his students I am lost of words of his passing.  I must say he was probably the most playful/strictest teacher lol he did not play when it came down to business he would joke all day but would make sure if you didn’t understand he did everything in his power to make sure you understood and I loved him for that. Aww man Mr.Koulis you would truly be missed. held always in our hearts 💕

Mr Koulis,  You was my science teacher for 3 years. You were the best teacher I ever had in my life, I promise you that. I loved your class, plus it was my favorite subject. I wish I would’ve visited after I graduated. So many memories, it’s too many to pick but I’ll always love and miss your humor. Nobody was funnier than you lol

I remember one of the first times I met Anthony aka Cooless we all called him. I was at the tunnel on the curfew line and I was scared cause I always went through the straight line but my gay friends said you can get into the fuzzy room that plays 80’s music all the time and I think Anthony heard me and grabbed my hand and walked me to the front of the line kissed me on the cheek and they let me in!! One of the best nights I’ve ever had. Love you brother.

Anthony was a phenomenal educator who always advocated for his students. He is pictured here leading a lab classroom session with the AP for All team. As a teacher leader, he attended, hosted, and led many professional learning sessions. He strived to improve instruction and make learning fun for his students. His passion and love of learning always came through. He was always ready with a joke and would often make me laugh on calls, texts, emails, or in person. I will miss his smile!

Anthony was a Teacher Leader with the AP for All team, the Office of Equity and Access, now the Office of Advanced Opportunities, for more than 8 years. He was a devoted educator who had a passion for learning and making sure that students had access to Advanced coursework. He is seen here joining an online professional learning session with the AP for All team of Teacher Leaders. There are not enough words to say how much he will be missed. Our condolences to his loved ones...we will keep him in our prayers. ❤️  

Gone but never forgotten!

Anthony and I were in educational leadership classes together. In August 2022, we spent a weekend in Albany for the program. We shared many laughs walking around Empire Plaza and taking pictures. My condolences to Anthony’s family and friends. He brought countless smiles to my face; I can only imagine how much joy he brought to his students. Anthony, you will be missed.

Although I didn’t know Anthony , my son Pasquale did . I can’t imagine losing a child and at this age no less . Please dear God in heaven keep Anthony close to you and wrap him in you’re loving arms he’s in a better place

His journey was a beacon of hope for all who greatest legacy was the love, kindness, and compassion he shared with everyone he met. His honesty, integrity, and generosity inspired countless people, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

We met here, middle school. We were just kids. Last time we bumped into each other I was still living in Florida. I was so happy to see the sweet funny crazy kid I knew turned into such an amazing man and that you kept that sweet funny side of you. I know you over came so much just to be called to heaven so young. You have touched so many people and will continue to do so. It was a pleasure to be part in your journey of life. Hope we meet again someday ❤️.

As far back as I can remember, I remember you…Even though it’s been many years since we’ve seen each other but the last time we spoke was you telling me that this was inevitable,you were ready and I couldn’t do anything but look up to you for having so much courage and faith… an angel has gained its wings..

I am deeply saddened to hear of Anthony’s passing. He was a student I will always remember. Anthony took Adolescent Psychology with me when he was training to become a teacher, and even then, it was clear he had a special gift. I had many meaningful conversations with him about his aspirations and fears regarding teaching, and I always knew he would make an exceptional teacher.

Anthony’s passion, thoughtfulness, and dedication stood out to me, and I feel fortunate to have been part of his journey. My heart goes out to his family, friends, colleagues, and the students whose lives he surely impacted.
