Carmela "Millie" Basile

Carmela "Millie" Basile (nee Castelli), 96, formerly of Ridge, New York, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Biaggio and Rosa (Urrata) Castelli, Millie was married to the late Angelo V. Basile, for 39 years, at the time of his passing in 1987. Millie was the devoted mother of Mary Ann Melton and her husband, Bill Melton, Thomas Basile and his wife, Donna Basile, Bruce Basile and his wife, Joan Basile, and Deborah Basile. She was the adored Nanny of David Melton, William Melton, Thomas Basile, Timothy Basile, and Angelo Basile, and cherished by her great-grandchildren, Alexandra Melton, Amelia Melton, Dylan Basile, London Basile, Emma Basile, David Melton, and Anthony Melton. As well as cherished by her great-great-grandchild Neno Melton. In addition, Millie was the dear aunt of Mildred Marquez. Millie was the Sicilian matriarch of the Basile family who made unforgettable memories with her family around the table as they relished her incredible Sicilian cooking. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by each life that she touched. The Basile family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W.
