multiculturally rich household of Michel Jamil and Estelle Antoine on October 1st.
Elizabeth flourished in her beautiful homeland of Lascaobas, Haiti. Jojo, as she was
affectionately known, was far from a wallflower. Growing up, Elizabeth was always in the mix,
making her presence known and gaining friends at every turn. Her smile would light up
the room. There is no question that she had an unforgettable vibrancy about her from
the very second she came into this world.
In 1979, Jojo took this sense of joie de vivre with her when she immigrated to the US,
along with the rest of the Antoine clan and settled in her new home in Queens, New York.
Not skipping a beat, she soon enrolled at York College and began working towards making
her American dream a reality. After a few years, she met and married Martelly Seide.
They began a family with the arrival of their daughter Stephanie, followed by their son,
Dimitri. In 1989, she took the brave step of starting a new life with her children in
Florida. Elizabeth worked her way through school and became a renowned Registered
Respiratory Therapist in the Fort Lauderdale area. She worked nights for years on end,
all while single-handedly raising her two children and providing them with the most loving environment imaginable. Not only was she a wonderful mother to her two children, but she also served as an outstanding maternal figure to her nieces and nephews, simply known as "Mom" to most. She brought joy and happiness to all her family, having them spend summers with her in Florida and often
flying back to New York to spend time with her siblings, nieces and nephews. She
made family a priority in her life and made sure everyone felt the love she had for
them, always dropping everything to travel to New York when they needed her,
Luckily, God sought it fit to allow Jojo see the loves of her life become adults and
eventually make her the proudest grandmother to walk this Earth, with the birth of her
pride and joy, her third grand baby, Ameerah. Although she had racked countless of frequent flyers during her many visits over the years, it was no match for Elizabeth being just a car ride away. In 2015, after many decades of living apart from her family, Elizabeth finally moved back to New York. She relished this time and made many memories with her family and friends. Elizabeth touched many during her short time on Earth and what remained constant was her heart and compassion. When she decided to love you, that was it. You were in her life and heart for life. Jojo’s spirit joined her parents on January 17th while she was surrounded by family. Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents and sister, Carmille, and survived by her children: Stephanie & Dimitri granddaughters: Ameerah, Kaila daughter-in-law: Tami siblings: Margaret, Michele, Chantal, Serge, Dominique, Clive, Nicole, Yolene.
