

Eunice Gene Jennings (nee Sims), 84, of West Babylon, entered into Eternal Life on August 24, 2023. Born in Hancock County, Georgia, to the late James Sims and Mattie Mills on April 18, 1939, Eunice married the love of her life, Claude J. Jennings on October 25, 1959. Together they shared 64 years of a loving marriage, in addition to creating a home where nurturing and faith sustained them in the raising of their children, Karen and Roland Mohammed, Lynne M. Jennings, Eric J. and Valaresia L. Jennings, and Yasin and Lisa Chaudhry. After a life of raising their loving children and working as a registered nurse, a career that began when Eunice was in high school following her high school graduation and culminating in her becoming a registered nurse from Bronx Community College in her 50s, Eunice also served as a Deaconess at First Baptist Church of West Babylon. In addition to studying The Word of God, Eunice loved to use her God-given talents for creativity in painting, crocheting, and working on arts and crafts. Her memory will forever be cherished by her adored grandchildren, Jessica M. Boutell, Julienne Mohammed, Mark Mohammed, Jasmine Jennings, and Jordahn Mohammed, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Sophia Boutell, Olivia Jennings, and Erykah M. Jennings. She was also loved and will be deeply missed by her dear nephews and nieces, Jerry Curry, Carol Curry, Donald Curry, and Evelyn Curry-Russel. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends who will continue to cherish her memory. The Jennings family will receive visitors at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Thursday, August 31, 2023, 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Funeral service 10 am Friday, September 1, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
