With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frances M. Campion of Lindenhurst, New York, who left this world peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 85. A woman of deep love, quiet strength, and enduring warmth, Frances leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, and joy that touched everyone who knew her.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 29, 1939, to Guilio Napolitano and Theresa Barotti, Frances grew up in a large, lively Italian household filled with love, laughter, and resilience. She was one of nine children, sharing her early years with her beloved siblings: Anthony, Fiore, Stephen, Patrick, James, Charles, Lucielle, and Theresa. Those roots in Brooklyn remained dear to her heart for her entire life.
Frances was the devoted wife of James J. Campion, her sweetheart and partner in life for 51 years. Their marriage was a shining example of commitment, humor, and unconditional love until James’ passing in 2012. Together, they built a family and a home that overflowed with kindness, tradition, and togetherness.
She was the proud and loving mother of three children who were the center of her world: James Campion (Margaret), Frances Ginley (Edward), and Daniel Campion (Karen). Her love extended to her grandchildren—Anthony, Catherine, Theresa, Angela, Daniel, Jesse, and Tori—each of whom she adored and supported with quiet pride. Her eyes lit up with joy at the mention of her great-grandchildren: Juliana, Christopher, Henry, Emma, Matthew, Peyton, Presley, and Daniel.
Frances was a seamstress by trade, but her true life’s work was as a homemaker—creating a warm, welcoming home filled with home-cooked meals, laughter, and an open door for anyone in need. She had a passion for family gatherings, never missing a reason to celebrate. Her home was always alive with stories, delicious food, and music. She was the heart of every party and a loyal friend to many, especially her cherished Brooklyn friends who remained close throughout the years.
To know Fran was to feel loved. She had a rare gift for making people feel at home, for turning ordinary days into memories, and for finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Her presence was a blessing, her love was fierce and unwavering, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
