Frank has been in my life for over 60 years.  He was always a terrific guy and a wonderful brother-in-law to me. An early, fond memory of spending time with Frank took place in the 1950's.  When I was a little girl (and probably a "pain in the neck" kid sister) Frank and Val would take me to Kiddie City, an amusement park not far from home.  Oh, how I would look forward to those outings!  Frank took me on the rides and taught me how to play arcade games.  I just loved spending time with my sister, Val and her cool boyfriend, Frank!

I grew up, got married and moved to Massachusetts.  Kurt and I always looked forward to visits from Frank, Val and the kids.  We had lots of laughs and good times together.  Kurt recently shared with me that he always admired Frank in his role as a dad.  We both think that his kids are a testament to the great job that he and Val did as parents.  

When they visited, Frank was always willing to putter around the house and make repairs when needed.  I was his helper and he was a terrific teacher.  He'd walk me through what he was doing, step by step and I learned a lot.

Frank loved the cape.  I can see him now, sitting in his favorite spot in my living room and looking out at the water.  You could tell that he felt peaceful and content.

I love you, Frankie and will miss you always.

I was only eight or nine when I first met Frank around 1953. Cousin Val, you were just 16 and still in high school when you started dating him - an Air Force staff sergeant working at Mitchell Field on Long Island. He was impressive in his Air Force "blues."  I liked him immediately, and that never changed over numerous occasions when we spent happy family time together in our earlier years. He was always easy to talk with and frequently very funny, and It was obvious to me that he was a great husband and father. 

I will always remember the first time I saw his unique 1957 Plymouh Fury with the big, sharp tail fins. The "muscle car" was white and green, just like the record player he bought you early in your relationship - a gift your parents felt was far too much at the time. I think you remember those parental "discussions."

Well, it obviously worked out. Great kids and grandkids and a wonderful history with a wonderful man. I regret that my family and I were not able to spend more time with you and Frank and your family as we "matured."  But I will always have those irreplaceable memories and only the fondest thoughts of our very special times together.

Frank always had an amusing comment, albeit very corny, for us when we emerged from our home next door.  We will miss his banter dearly, and more importantly we will miss Frank as one of the finest men we have had the pleasure to know as neighbor for 42 years.

Dear Mrs. Smith and Family,
     We hope you are able to feel the love that surrounds you, and may that love guide you through this difficult time.  You and Mr. Smith built a beautiful life together, and raised five fabulous kids you sent into the world to enrich our lives, and now they are raising your wonderful grandchildren who will also inspire others.  What more could you ask for,  IT'S  A  WONDERFUL  LIFE.
