Joan Murphy

Joan Marie Murphy (nee Farrell), 90, of Babylon, entered into Eternal Life on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerard, in 1966. Devoted mother of Mary Ann Buckes, Patricia Richards, and Margaret Ligotti. Loving mother-in-law of Joseph Buckes, Thomas Richards, and Thomas Ligotti. Adored grandmother of Kelly Buckes, Christopher Boyce, Meghan Boyce, Miranda Richards, Gabriella Ligotti, Gerard Ligotti, and the late Michelle Buckes. Cherished great-grandmother of Jace Diaz, Addison Harvey, Raegan Harvey, and Fintan Harvey. Predeceased by her parents, Timothy and Anna (Cornwell) Farrell, and her brothers, James Farrell and Timothy Farrell. Joan was a past president of the Catholic Daughters of America, a Girl Scout Leader, a Catechist, and a former member of the Saint Joseph's Choir. In addition to this, Joan was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Babylon. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by each life that she touched. Family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Thursday, June 29, 2023, 4 pm-8 pm. Funeral mass 9:30 am Friday, June 30, 2023, St. Joseph's RC Church, Babylon. Interment to follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn.
