

John Ingrassia, born on March 11, 1928, left this world peacefully on February 14, 2024, at the age of 95. He was a devoted husband to Maureen for an incredible 70 years, a loving father to Teresa, John (Maria), James, and Michael (Tara), a proud Navy veteran who served with honor during World War II.
John was not only a dedicated family man but also a cherished grandfather to Valerie, John, Matthew, Michael, and Nicole, and a beloved great-grandfather to Bryce, James, Matthew, and Gianna. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and joys.
During his life, John worked diligently for the North Babylon School District, leaving a lasting impact on the community he served. In his free time, he pursued various hobbies with passion, including fishing, gardening, cheering on the New York Yankees, and enjoying a round of golf. Sundays were reserved for watching sports, and he found peace and joy in clamming and crabbing on the Great South Bay.
John was a devout member of Our Lady of Grace RC Church, where he served as an usher for an impressive 50 years and dedicated himself to outreach work, exemplifying his unwavering faith and commitment to serving others.
Above all, John's greatest joy was his family. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
John's legacy of love, devotion, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A visitation will occur Friday, February 23, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 700 Albin Ave, West Babylon, New York 11704. A committal service will occur at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11739.
