John, Lindsey and I think of you often and miss your encouragement to others while you were so sick.  What a kind and loving man we lost.  Your family will always be in our thoughts and prayers and I know you are watching over them from above.  You are so missed by all that knew you John.

           I have known John for a number of years. As a man he lived life with respect, integrity and honor; . As a Husband and a father there wasn't a time that he did not express his love for all of you even during the assignments we were on. You were on his mind always. His reputation in the PD as well as the private sector jobs we were on together was second to none. John was a genuine person who cared about the lives he touched...I hope that as a family you know that John lives in each of us That he'll not be forgotten ..

  I don't remember John, however I am sure I have been in his company at one time or another. After viewing his life's photos it brought back so many memories of Lindenhurst and my childhood and my early family life.  The people of this area of the country are the real salt of this country and you should all be proud.

 My condolences to the Kristoffersen family. John and I were firefighters in West Islip together and we joined the NYPD together.  He always had a smile and was a pleasure to be with. He will be missed.

John, may you rest in peace. Your dedication to your family and job will not be forgotten. It was my privelege to have worked with you over the years and my honor to have known you. You taught me a lot and always made me laugh. I will miss you.  My thoughts and prayers for the family at this time of grieving.

I have just finished listening to the music and looking at all the pictures of John's family and life.  He is still making me smile.................I know that most of you have know John for a life time, our relationship was recent, and for such a short period of time.  John, like for all of you made BIG impression on me and my daughter Lindsey.  Lindsey was a fellow patient at the IBC Hospital during John's stay at the hospital.  We became friends almost immediately through his wonderful wife Bernadette.  My own father was a Police officer for over 30 years so there was already a bond.  Lindsey, John, Bernadette and I would watch TV together, get IV's  and share meals together even though John wasn't allowed much of anything to eat.  He was so kind and caring towards Lindsey always asking how she was feeling and how was her day. He was obviously in pain but never complained.  He shared his Tums with Lindsey and she would come to his room almost every day asking for more Tums.  It was just simple gestures made by John that displayed his generosity towards others and as I look at the memories in pictures of his life I can see that he was that kind of man, friend and husband to those around him.  Lindsey and I feel very honored to have met John and Bernadette and share the precious time that we did with them both.  They shared stories of their two children, Jessica and Johnny and you could tell he loved them so very much. We will miss knowing John is here making our world a better place, but we also know that he is at peace now and not in pain.  His service to his city, to our country will never be forgotten by us and all who knew him.  God Bless Bernadette, Jessica and Johnny and keep them safe.  Always know that you are surrounded by friends that love you and will be here for you.  Our love and prayers, Nancy and Lindsey, your new friends from IBC Hospital.

John Kristoffersen touched the lives of many.  His memory will always be with each one of us that knew him. He is now in  Heaven looking down at all of us and especially his wife and children. Our deepest regrets are with Johnny's family today and always.  We are just one big extended family and when one hurts we all hurt.  Johnny K's with his Dad now and all that went before him and he will be well taken care of. Watch over us all and meet us at the gates when its our time to come home.
