To the Kelly Family,
I thought Joe would appreciate this so I hope y’all can as well. I have memorialized a section of Border Wall in Joe’s name which will stand tall as a permanent fixture in both structure and history. It is being erected today 10/23/20 in honor of my friend. It is a bright and beautiful sunny day here in South Texas. It  is also located in a beautiful area directly next to the Rio Grande. I wish I could be there in person to share this with you but please know that you are all in my thoughts. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and the entire Family. 

Joe will most certainly be missed but his memory and the memories of good times will live forever in our hearts.

I never imagined there would be a time in this life that I couldn’t call you just to talk. I never thought that our most recent adventure in ridiculousness could have been the last. I would have paid a lot more attention to every little detail if I knew. I never would have been “too busy”, or “too tired” to come over and hang out when you asked me. I always made fun of you for being the “selfie king”. What I wouldn’t give just one more pic of us together.  I am truly blessed to have had you as my friend these last 20+ years, and I’m grateful for every conversation and moment you spent with me. You were so giving of yourself and your time, and everyone in your life was richer for having known you. I have never known a better husband, father and friend. I will carry you in my heart my friend, and when I need to talk, I know you’ll still be listening. 

Beach days, boating, camping, skiing....whatever we did with you was always fun. Talking for hours to Keith about wood, fires, tools and everything under the sun. Best husband and dad,son,Son in law, brother, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend....you were the bomb. We’ll miss you Joe, but rest easy knowing Dawn and the kiddies will always be looked after.❤️

Joe you were a bright light, a free spirit, a lover of fun, caring, compassionate and so full of love for Dawn and your kids. Every time I think of you I envision that big smile & those blue eyes! You brought joy and laughter every where you went. Your love and devotion to your family spoke volumes of the person you were. It seems impossible that you are no longer in this world with us Joe! I will always remember your gentle soul and your kind smile.  I'll never forget that night at the Conboys when the kids kicked the ball into the canal and you stripped down to your underwear and jumped right in for it. Joe lived life to the fullest, but always made time for his family & their friends. 

I remember celebrating Joes birthday when we went to Carmines in the city. What a great time. So many great memories and my heart breaks for all of you. 

How do I reduce a life to a message? Joe was bigger than life. He lived Full Throttle. He and I were able to disagree politically and vigorously debate each other with fervor.  Why? Because Joe was smart. He had insight. He had passion. He loved American and his family. Despite our differences Joe always said we shared the same values. He was my brother. We always texted each other to remind ourselves that we loved and respected the other. Joe was Full Throttle at all times his warmth and caring demeanor made him shine. Joe was one of a kind and he touched so many lives. He lives on in our stories and memories  God rest is soul.
