Louis Joseph DeRidder, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather lived a wonderfully full and long life. As any life, his was filled with many sorrows but met with joy beyond compare. A proud Babylonian for most of his life, he was involved in politics, he volunteered with the Babylon Fire Department and Ambulance. Lou was a man who was well respected by his community and anyone who met him, would certainly describe him as a "character." He always had a smile on his face, a quick witted joke on the tip of his tongue and a helping hand to lend. At 6'2", he has been described as a "Giant among men", not only for his stature but because of enormous heart, personality and his zest for life. He has loved and been loved by many. We will miss our Mason who laid the foundation of our family and know that his legacy of joy and fairness will always be the beacon that will be passed down to our future generations. May he rest in peace.
Louis J. DeRidder, age 92, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021. Louis was born March 8, 1929.
