

Matthew A. Ferrizz, cherished husband of Cheryl for 52 beautiful years, passed away on July 2nd 2024. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family with their three children: Rachael (Steven), Matthew (Sarah), and Andrew (Anna). Matthew was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Joseph, Benjamin, Isabella, Matthew, Julia, and Mason and adored his granddogs. He now joins his brothers Robert and James in heaven; his brother Raymond continues to cherish his memory.
As a Navy SEAL veteran of Vietnam, Matthew showed bravery and dedication which earned him a bronze star. Matthew later went on to find fulfillment in his career with Local 25 Electricians Union, retiring with dedication and pride. His life was a tapestry, woven with passions for kayaking, surfing, running, and fishing, activities he shared joyfully with his family. He will be remembered fondly for his selfless service as a volunteer at St. Joe's Food Pantry, where his kindness touched countless lives.
Known for his loving and steadfast nature, Matthew exemplified integrity, compassion, and authenticity in all he did. He stood as a pillar of strength for his children, always their protector and champion. His belief in justice and fairness shaped his interactions and endeared him to all who knew him.
Matthew A. Ferrizz leaves behind a legacy of enduring love, warmth, and kindness. His spirit will continue to inspire and comfort those who were blessed to share in his life's journey.
A visitation for Matthew A. will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 39 N Carll Ave, Babylon, NY 11702. A burial will occur Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
