

Minnie “Pearl” Arnold, a jewel among many was 81 years old and resident at 496 Wyandanch Ave, North Babylon of Long Island, New York, departed this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. She was born to the late Rose Anna Scott Easley and John Easley on October 6 1932, in Rome, Georgia. Beloved wife to the late Edward (Jake) Arnold, were married in 1953, and relocated to Bay shore, NY and settled in North Babylon, Long Island, NY in the early 50's.
Minnie worked at Pilgrim State Psychiatric Center for thirty years until she retired. During that time she also worked as a home health care worker assisting the elderly. She attended the Upper Room Tabernacle Church in Deer Park, NY until her health limited visitation. Pearl as many called her enjoyed praying, praising God in song and sharing God's love with her children and those whom she met that had a need. Her favorite pastimes were playing board/card games, and to travel, taking trips together with her husband, children, siblings and their children. Pearl treasured the moments visiting her children’s homes across the country where she was able to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which brought her joy.
Minnie Pearl was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her children with God's help by nurturing them to adulthood. She would encourage them to always keep the family together. Her house was regularly filled with the aroma of home cooked meals to share with family and friends...topping it off with lots of love and laughter. Pearl had a big heart and was always giving of herself and what she had to assist family and friends. She was generous opening her home to many relatives and even friends allowing them to stay at her abode already occupied by her many offspring’s.
Minnie Pearl had 12 children, but is survived by 10 children who will forever cherish her memory: Robert Arnold, Helen Darby, Melvin Arnold, Maria Arnold-Hayden, Euphimo Arnold, Curtis Arnold, Linda Arnold-Cooper, Lisa Arnold-Steglich, Vivian Arnold-Bethel, Sharon Arnold-Bullock (Gloria Arnold-Porter & Frank Darby both preceded her in death). Her son & daughter in-laws George Darby, Calvin Hayden, Tyrone Cooper, Mark Bethel, Douglas Bullock, Debra Arnold, Tammy Arnold, Deborah Arnold, plus 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is survived by three sister's Catherine Easley, Johnny Mae Redmond and Julia Hill along with two brother's Thomas Easley and Andrew Easley and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will cherish her sweet memory.
