Myrna Burnell

Myrna Burnell, a cherished resident of West Babylon, New York, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on August 12, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, Myrna was the beloved daughter of Kristian Fjeldanger and Bergliot Berentsen.

She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Burnell for 49 wonderful years. Myrna is survived by her loving children, Deborah Drennan, Robert (Eileen), John-Kristian (Rose), Bridget (Ex-Stephen), and James (Karen). She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Matthew, Joseph, Louis, Ashley, John, Jared, Christopher, Chloeanne, Matthew, Michael, Robert, Sharon, Carlos, Layla, Angie, and Sarah. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Logan, Laura, Zoey, Mackenzie, Ella, Olivia, Madeline, Miles, Michael, Brittany, Alexa, Carina, Liam, Maya, Joseph, Giannella, London, Penelope, Aelia, and Luna.

Myrna’s kindness and warmth touched the lives of many. She was a dedicated clerk for the Suffolk County Health Department and a loving member of the West Babylon PTA. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, and enjoying lunches with her close friends. She also found joy in the company of her beloved dogs, Brandy and Patches.

Myrna was known for her gentle spirit, her quick wit, and the loving light she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May she rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished.

A visitation for Myrna will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Claude R. Boyd/Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702. A visitation will occur Friday, August 2, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702. A mass will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 666 Albin Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704. A burial will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
