Phil is survived by his loving fiancee` Peggy Brady, his beloved sisters, Theresa Giammarinaro and Rosemarie Garvey (Peter) and nephews Matthew Giammarinaro (Nicole), Joseph Garvey, and Philip Garvey, and his great nieces Natalie and Audrey. He was the beloved son of the late Philip and Margaret Canfora. Philip was dearly loved and will be truly missed by Peggy's family.
Philip was an ex-Captain of the West Babylon Volunteer Fire Department where he proudly served his community for 46 years, a calling he truly loved. He was retired from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, where he spent 33 years as a Corrections Officer and an elite member of the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team. He enjoyed travelling, hunting and country music. He was a devoted Rangers, Yankees and Giants fan. Philip will be greatly missed by his many wonderful lifetime friends.
Friends may visit at the Boyd Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, NY on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 2-4:30 pm and 7-9:30 pm. Firematic services will be held at 8pm. Cremation private.
In lieu of flowers contributions to the Kent Animal Shelter, in his name would be appreciated by the family.
