Robert T. Cahill, 81 of North Carolina on June 4, 2016. Beloved husband of Marni. Cherished father of Robert, Bill, Kevin, David and Colleen. Adoring grandfather of Alexis, Amanda, Justin and Jill. Loving great grandfather of Benjamin and William. Caring brother of Delores, Loretta, Catherine, Joe, and Michael. Bob had many academic accomplishments including, a Masters in Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Advanced Clinical Social Work (ACSW), masters of Addiction Counseling (MAC). Bob worked as Director of Addiction Services, South Oaks Hospital. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the field of recovery from addiction. Bob lived life to the fullest, made the most of every moment, brought joy and healing to thousands. He faced the end with courage, dignity and determination to leave us on his own terms and in his own time. He spent his last days entertaining his family, keeping them laughing until the very end, with his precious dog Luke by his side. He will be missed more than words can express. Family and friends may visit at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 West Main Street Babylon NY 11702 on Thursday 2:00 – 4:30pm and 7:00-9:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:45 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Babylon NY. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale NY.
