William J. Smith

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William J. Smith, of Massapequa, New York, on February 18, 2025, at the age of 55. William was born on November 14, 1969, in East Patchogue, New York, to William F. Smith and Carole K. Krajci.

William was the beloved husband of Pellegrino Ragusa, and together they shared a life full of love, laughter, and mutual support.

William was a dedicated laborer in construction and proudly worked with Local 1298 in Hempstead, New York. His work ethic, strength, and commitment were evident throughout his career, and he will be remembered for his contributions to his community and the industry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in William’s memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a cause close to his heart.

He will be greatly missed, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A visitation for William J. will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Claude R. Boyd/Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702. A visitation will occur Friday, February 21, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 39 N Carll Ave, Babylon, NY 11702.
