Ann Hathaway West

Shirley “Ann”Hathaway West was born in Portland, Oregon on February 16, 1926. She entered eternal life on May 7, 2013. Ann had an unwavering faith in Christ. A consummate mother and homemaker, Ann was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She retired from Kern County School District in 2000, where she worked for Ruggenberg Career Center. Ann had a wonderful sense of humor and artistic ability, which she passed to her children and grandchildren. Her selfless determination to her family was her most accomplished achievement. She cherished her time with friends, neighbors and relatives. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond West, and by her son, Steven. Ann is survived by her sons, Geoffrey, Darren, and Damon West and wife Jennifer (Clark); seven grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Abigail, Karine, Zuzu, Elliott, and Stella West; sister Diane Price; brother, Benjamin Hathaway and wife Marie. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 3033 E. Bear Mountain Blvd., Arvin, CA 93203. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. at Bill Lee’s Bamboo Chopsticks,1203 18th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
