April 27, 1934 – January 25, 2011
Lyle was born and raised in Long Prairie, Minnesota. Son of Wally and Agnes Bluhm. Surrounded by his family, Lyle passed away peacefully at home and is spending time currently with his Lord and Savior. Lyle served in the Army right out of High School and at the end of his service was stationed in northern California. Lyle was so happy to be out of the cold winters of Minnesota he decided to stay in California. Lyle landed a job with Santa Fe Railroad and work for the Railroad until retirement (40+ years). Upon searching high and low for the right soul mate he landed his wife, Mary who was the love of his life for 49 years (would have been 50 this June). They began their marriage in the little valley town of Hanford and resided there until 1970 when they moved to Bakersfield with their two daughters Lori and Debbie.
Lyle was a man of integrity, honesty and pride! Lyle will always be remembered for his commitment to his faith and doing the right thing even when no one was looking. Lyle loved life, family and his weekly excursion to the dump. The dump wasn’t just about trash, but a cold beer or two on the way home at the Old Corral.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife Mary. Brother Max Bluhm and wife Kathy. Daughters; Lori McQuilliams husband Mark, Debbie Khin husband Evan, Grandchildren; Tayler, Carly and Madison McQuilliams, Travis and Jonathan Khin. Great grandchildren; Riley Jay, Brooklynn and Riley Rose.
One last wish from Lyle is to let all know, he is having a cold one with his Best Friend Little John at the big bar in the sky.
Services will be held at Christ the King (1800 Bedford Way) Monday January 31, 2011 @ 1:00 PM.
