Carl Lenwood Stringfield loved people. He spent many of his days and nights happily talking with customers at the Gas & Shop on Hancock Bridge Parkway where he worked. Carl was a man who never met a stranger and took genuine interest in the people he got to know day by day over the years. He liked to tell stories and always had a bright smile on his face.
He was a native of Ivanhoe, North Carolina. He moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1996 after having resided more than 30 years in Honolulu, Hawaii. Carl was a retired driver for the civil service and worked security at the Hancock Bridge Gas & Shop. He was a member of Gulf Coast Baptist Church and a Marine Veteran of the Korean War.
Carl will be deeply missed by brothers Millard, Walter and Jerry, sister Elizabeth, children Kyle, Carl, Carletta and Wade, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous friends.
Carl died on August 2, 2012 from lung cancer. He was 77 years old
