We will all miss Carlie. She was always so kind and so cheerful and she was a wonderful and fun grandmother to our kids. Carlie had many talents and achievements, but she was always humble. All who knew her will miss her beautiful music.

I'm including a picture of Carlie and Grace from last Christmas. They sat on the couch all afternoon, popping bubbles and talking and having a great time. This is how I choose to remember her.

We take great comfort in knowing that Carlie and Mel are now together again.

Dearest Carlie,
I'm going to miss our moments when we would giggle at the silliest things. I love how you found joy in everyone you met. You amazed me at how you knew peace and God, and in the last year, you had moments of awareness you were only able to live in the present. During one of our recent visits you briefly had one of these moments, and you shared with me how much you loved all of us, and you have had a great life, but you missed Melvin, and you were ready to see him again. I love you, Carlie and I will miss you. I wish you and Dad the most joyous Merry Christmas.

All our love, Martha and Tom

God bless you, Mom. Hope you are set free from the forgetful moments and the frustration of trying so hard to remember.

You were kind and made the most of what you had.

Love,

Doug
