Wally was born into this world, and it quickly became clear that he was a gift to everyone around him. From an early age, his curious and compassionate nature shone brightly in all he did. As a young boy, Wally approached life with a keen mind and a big heart. His gifts were evident throughout his school years, where he excelled both academically and athletically. Whether he was shining on the sports field or helping friends with their homework, Wally was the perfect blend of intellect and athlete. His relentless drive and determination led him to graduate high school a year early—simply because he discovered it was possible. Wally’s engaging personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met, from teachers to friends, earning him a circle of friendships too large to count.
Growing up, Wally had a deep love for fishing, a passion sparked by trips with his granddad. He cherished the peacefulness of waiting for a bite, the thrill of reeling in a catch, and the satisfaction of holding it in his hands. He loved riding dirt bikes, playing video games with his younger brother, and spending time outdoors with friends. Protective by nature, Wally always looked out for his younger sister and brother, doing everything in his power to keep them safe.
As Wally grew into adulthood, his positive impact on the world and those around him only deepened. His love for nature led him to a career in environmental construction, where he made a lasting mark by planting countless trees through his work with Blue Water Baltimore. Wally worked tirelessly to make the city more beautiful and sustainable, leaving behind a living legacy in the trees he nurtured. His coworkers and friends admired not only his humor and determination but also his love for team building, where daily games of Wordle, inspired by Wally, began every day.
Wally’s kindness and empathy were a testament to the man he was. He had an incredible ability to make people feel valued, always knowing the right words or actions to lift someone's spirits.
He is the beloved son of Oswaldo Campitelli, Jr., and Diane Wilson and her husband Jeff; cherished brother of Teresa, Tony, and Jess; and dear uncle of Jackson, Layla, Ayden, and Ava. He is also survived by his many other caring friends and family.
Wally, you are loved beyond measure, and your light will continue to shine in all of us.
