Daughter: Rose and children Marlin, Sean, Crystal and Jayden, Chrissy (Lance) and Aiyana, Talon, Aisha

Christa was born in Breslau, Germany on February 25, 1936, and joined the household of her brother, grandparents and relatives. She immigrated to Canada in 1956 and was reunited with Karl Lipski, who she had known briefly in Germany. They married on August 31, 1957 in Edmonton and were blessed with three children: Hartmut in 1958, Claudia in 1959 and John in 1961. They operated a mixed farm at Meadowview, with Christa managing household duties, farm chores and raising the children. Loving and caring for others was her superpower. In 1975, Christa and Karl opened their home to three additional children: Wilbur, Arliss and Rose. When the children moved on, Christa offered childcare for many other families. She was 68 years old when Karl passed away at the age of 71. They had been married for 47 years. She remained on the farm for several years thereafter, relying on family and friends to transport her to town for groceries and to attend church. She tried apartment living until 2017 and then decided, at the age of 81, that she would buy a little house to make it her retirement home. She lived independently under the watchful eye of family, friends and neighbours.

In honour of Christa’s life, funeral service at Rose Garden Chapel 5326-48th Avenue, Barrhead, at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, followed by a luncheon at the Barrhead Seniors Centre.
