Hilda Kercher

February 3, 1920 – June 25, 2012

Mrs. Mickie (Hilda) Kercher, late of Barrhead, AB, formerly of Sangudo, AB, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her loving family; children, Bryan (Carolyn) of Westlock, AB, Terry (Hazel) of Taber, AB, Linda (Wayne) Bernat of West Kelowna, BC, Penny (Bill) Szybunka of Sangudo, AB, Gerald (Janet) of Turner Valley, AB, Gordon (Gail) of Lacombe, AB, and Brenda Kercher of Whitecourt, AB; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Mickie is predeceased by her husband, Albert; parents, Mary and William Haswell; six brothers, George, William, Norman, Wilfred, Tom, and Harry; three sisters, Annie Rita, Annie, and Mary. Mickie was born in Durham County, England on February 3, 1920. In 1945, as a warbride, she came to Alliance, AB. Albert and Mickie moved to Sangudo in 1947 where they farmed and raised their family until Albert retired in 1981. At which time they moved to Barrhead. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Sangudo Community Hall. Interment followed in the South Park Cemetery.
