Marie Ruth Klause

It is with great sadness that we announce that Marie Ruth Klause, of Rich Valley, AB, peacefully passed away at the age of 66, on April 17, 2025.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Eldor: children, Tyson (Kristine), Sabrina (Michael), Byron; grandchildren Logan and Emma; along with many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was born in New Westminster, BC and as a young girl moved to Alberta Beach. After marrying Eldor in 1976, they purchased the farm near Rich Valley where they built a life together and raised a family. Ruth was constantly on the move; a need to focus her energies where it would make a difference in the community. She opened a day home and was actively involved with the RV School, RV Ag Society and Minor Hockey, and local 4-H clubs. As life progressed, she became involved with the Rich Valley Historical Society, helping with the restoration of the RV Historical Little Church. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Jasper, caring for plants and animals, and making fond memories with her Yoga Sisters.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Barrhead Hospital and all the friends and family who visited. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for The Barrhead Cancer Clinic in her memory.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the Rich Valley Community Hall on May 5th 2025 at 1:00 pm
