It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Melvin Joseph LaValley, late of Mayerthorpe, AB, on May 12, 2014 at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his loving family; Rose, loving wife of 55 years, 4 children; Judy (Richard) Smith of Lacombe, Alberta, Wilf (Cindy) LaValley, Dan LaValley (Margie), Lynn (Vernon) Golby all of Mayerthorpe, Alberta, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as other family and many dear friends. Melvin was predeceased by one son, Gerald, his parents Wilfred and Mable LaValley, brothers; Bud and Eldon, Sisters; Eva and Doris
Prayer service will be held on Wednesday May 14th 2014 at 7:00 pm at the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, where also the service will be held Thursday May 15th 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment to be held at the Mayerthorpe Cemetery with Father Gary Lee Celebrant.
